LYNN HAMRICK    PRODUCER/DIRECTOR

Lynn Hamrick is a multiple award-winning director of documentaries, features, and network television. Her documentary Chess Kids aired on PBS and won many media and film festival awards. Her feature films, Finding Kelly and Splitsville, aired on Showtime, HBO and The Movie Channel. Selected television directing credits include: Family Ties, Fudge, Silk Stalkings, Baby-Sitter’s Club, Growing Up Together, and The U.S. Constitution with Bill Moyers.  Hamrick’s work garnered her numerous Cine Golden Eagles, a Directors Guild Award for Best Direction and a Cable Ace Nomination. Lynn received her MFA from UCLA Film School.  Lynn was an Assistant Professor of film and video production at Chapman University Film School where she mentored students in directing. She also taught at the Banff Centre for the Arts in Canada, The University of Hawaii, and UCLA. Lynn is a member of the Directors Guild of America, and a member of the P/D unit of the Actors Studio in Los Angeles.

For thirty years David has been involved with hundreds of projects with an international scope, from documentaries to feature films, television programs, commercials, and music videos. Having worked as a film editor in Los Angeles and New York, he moved to Santa Fe in 1981 and continued to pursue the art and craft of both cinematography and editing. David formed his own production company Lightningwood Pictures in 1984, working on a wide variety of programs for all distribution outlets. In 1993, David received an American Cinema Editors Nomination for Best Edited Documentary for Baraka.  He was director of photography and editor for the 1994 released music film, Toward the Within, featuring Dead Can Dance, and the feature film, Soundman, in 1998.  David was one of the shooters and editors on Lynn Hamrick’s original documentary, Chess Kids released in 1996.
